As a programmer and designer at Inside Design Orlando, we are noticing that jQuery sliding tabs for horizontal or vertical menus are becoming more and more popular. You will enjoy the jQuery ease of moving through the site and it takes less space than the normal dynamic tabs. jQuery programming teamed with AJAX, creates dynamic websites that are user friendly, as well as entertaining. We use animated effects in many functional ways.
Rather than using a flash presentation, I also suggest a jQuery images presentation for a dramatic effect as the site opens. This allows viewers that use Apple mobile devices to see the changes since Apple does not support “Flash” at this time.
Your first visual that clients get as they enter the site will put you ahead of the competition. JQuery menu navigation (in my opinion) is the correct choice if you are looking for customizable options and a dramatic home page. If your site is content heavy and you are considering many pages and articles, drop down jQuery menus and tabs are the most appropriate choice.
