Using organic content improves your Google search results in 2018

Dec 26, 2017

As we celebrate the new year, we are busy making new year’s resolutions to make our lives better. And for some of us, our websites are first on our minds. We are all looking for ways to improve our brands and our company profits this year. Our new years blog post today is all about improving our organic writing skills. We can do this by becoming smarter about what we write and the way we interact with our audience. Write in a way that will appeal to end users and make sure your written article solves a problem for your target audience.

Who will our writing attract?

Writing in an organic way will appeal not just to search engines but will attract “real people.”  Thus, improving our writing skills will bring the Google search results we are expecting in 2018. We have been busy over the Christmas holiday holding several workshops to teach SEO methods.  As we met with SEO students, their main goals were always the same.  They wanted to know more about how to improve their brands and to be found by those searching Google. They soon discover that adding new content (blogging consistently) and writing organically brings the best SEO success. In fact, the experts tell us that great SEO methods will continue to bring in more ROI (Return On Investment) in the years ahead.

Why is SEO so misunderstood online?

Content is still king and learning to add new content correctly will bring the best results. SEO is not really that complicated. You must educate people first by adding content worth reading, and follow good search engine rules to attract the search engine bots.  This is really a simple concept. But there are those bad actors out there that would scam unknowing clients by promising big results they cannot provide. The internet is a huge place and many unscrupulous characters are always around to take advantage of what you don’t know.
Most of these companies are not legitimate and make impossible claims they cannot fulfill.  I am suggesting that all of you be careful when considering outside help with SEO.  Again, it is what you don’t know that can get you in trouble. The best rule of thumb is to learn more about SEO yourself and to stay out of harms way.

Finding subjects to write about:

Who knows more about your business than you?  The topics you cover should be all about your unique industry.  Find articles you love through magazines and other media and start the project.  Reading about what is happening in your industry is just as important as writing an article.  Search engines will be attracted by trending items popular in real time.  Your job is like that of a news reporter.  What’s happening?  What is important in the news and what can you offer to those visiting your site which will enlighten them and teach them.  It is not necessary for you to pay big bucks to hire a professional as long as you are willing to spend the time yourself.
Having a guest blogger from time to time, when you are not able to add content is perfectly ok.  This offers a different perspective and is always welcome.  But the main work should be done by the business owner or someone on the team who can add news and views in an educational way.  Doing this consistently will build your brand and your site will be an “authority website.”
We wish you the best of luck in the new year and hope you will visit our site often to learn more about us.  Contact us for your next design project and stay tuned as we post new dates for our SEO workshops throughout the year.  We also have a list of professional bloggers for those of you looking for help with article writing.

Happy New Year friends …. enjoy and be safe!
